Scouts are aged from 101/2 to 14 years, and consist of young people who like to make friends and getting involved in new and exciting activities. Our Scouts meet every Friday night from 7.30pm to 9.15pm in the large church hall at St.Georges Church Freezywater. Our nights consist of many things such as cooking, games, first aid and our yearly programme includes night hikes, summer camps, kayaking, district competitions, bike rides, rifle shooting and much more!
NEWS FROM THE SCOUTS
On the last night of Scouts before Christmas the Troop went to Quaser for a night of fun and mayhem which was enjoyed by all. Over the last weeks the Scouts have been constructing planes from a kit (this is an ongoing activity but watch out for low flying aircraft on Friday Nights in the future)
We welcomed Mrs Browne to Troop night who told the Scouts about plantains and sweet potatoes. Mrs Browne then cooked a delicious dish using them and chicken. Also on this night, AJ one of our leaders brought his wife along to help him cook a Jungle curry. Both dishes were delicious and the Scouts needed no excuse to sample them. The troop would like to thank them both for giving up their time and are welcome to come and cook other dishes any time!!!
Saturday 13th February was the 'Big Splash' at Southbury Road Leisure Centre. We entered two teams who did us proud and even though we didnt win, they were winners in our eyes by the way they took part with their enthusiasum and fair play.
We are once again entering teams once again in the District 5 a side football competition and looking forward to trying to improve on our runners up position from last year. Good luck to all scouts competing.

A SUMMER CAMP REPORT BY JOSEPH WEEKES
This year our summer camp was at Kinsdown Campsite in Kent. WE loaded up the vans on Friday night so we were ready to leave early Saturday morning. There were two minibuses and Ed drove the removal van with all the kit in it.
We arrived and had our lunch before we set up the camp. We could see the English Channel from the campsite and at night we could see the lights over in France!
We did so much during the week including visiting Dover Castle, swimming in the sea, pier fishing, a day trip to Margate and a scavenger hunt on site. Dover Castle was really intresting bescause we learnt about the secret tunnels used during World War II and there was a chapel built in memory of those who died during the war. We walked around the castle walls ans could see the anti-aircraft guns that were still in place.
One Morning the leaders said we were going on a ramble and it turned out to be a 5 mile hike!
The night life was really good too, we played beetle, bingo, charades, did quizzes and had a campfire when we acted out funny sketches and told jokes.
We had great week with lovely weather and I can't wait to go camp again next year!
A reminder to all Scouts.
Complete Uniform is to be worn every section Night. This includes Green Scout shirt, Black neck scarf, Scout belt, Grey trousers, Grey socks and Black shoes.
